Les 24h de l\u2019illustration d\u00e9clinent le principe des 24h de la bande dessin\u00e9e, import\u00e9es pour la premi\u00e8re fois en Europe par Sylvain-Moizie Rondet de l\u2019Institut Pac\u00f4me \u00e0 Strasbourg. Les contraintes (th\u00e8me, format, nombre d\u2019images, couleurs, etc.) li\u00e9es \u00e0 la performance des 24h proposent un cadre nouveau aux illustrateurs.
C\u2019est l\u2019occasion d\u2019un travail \u00e0 mener \u00e0 plusieurs, m\u00eame s\u2019il n\u2019est pas compl\u00e8tement collectif. La limitation dans le temps, l\u2019\u00e9preuve physique sont propres \u00e0 l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation dans les techniques mais aussi dans la mani\u00e8re de penser le travail.
